The collection consists of records of the Callaway Educational Association from ca. 1920-1992. The records include scrapbooks, yearbooks, biographies of instructors and managers, and newspaper clippings. The scrapbooks document the activities of the CEA (1937-1964), the Dallis Street Teenage Club (1948-1969), and the Southern Peach Meet (diving/swimming tournament, 1947-1960). The yearbooks summarize the accomplishments of the Callaway Mills Industrial Relations (1943-1964) and the LaGrange Lions Clubs (1958-1959). Other materials contain information about the Callaway Memorial Service (1929-1960) held each year to honor Fuller E. Callaway, Sr., the CEA Kindergarten (1940-1979), the Coleman Library (1954-1955), and Callaway Mills.

The Callaway Educational Association (CEA) was established in 1944 to provide recreational and educational opportunities for LaGrange, Georgia youths. It encompassed the work of the old Southwest LaGrange YMCA and other Callaway Mills sponsored programs. Originally intended only for the families of Callaway Mills employees, CEA membership was soon opened to the community at large.
